Improve your ROI or RU
Don't worry this only takes about ten minutes and well if you are like me on your individual Twitter profiles you have different key words that describe what your twitter account is all about. Now for the past two years I think I have figured out why my ROI (UK is so low) well one of the reasons. I found this out by studying the instructions as already mentioned in Peer Index and Klout.
The one reason which I see has been the problem is not just the random follow backs of people who are perhaps known as spammers or Trolls (even if they do not know it) because they use certain paid for software tools to do all the hard work for them).
I have used tools to automatically make posts but the paid for software follows and unfollows people, automatically blocks there posts from stream giving to the uninitiated the illusion that you have a wide reach. Using tools like Klout here in the UK and Peer Index you can see your true reach percentage.
I am sure when you see the percentage you will want to improve it quickly but I am sorry it is going to take time.
You can pay and there are some great systems out there where you can download set up and create a niche for Twitter itself but I am not talking about this and although it would be nice to host my own Twitter page with squeeze pages and auto-responders and build a targeted list this is not what I have done.
I hope you will still find value in what I am saying, so with that said let me explain a little bit more before I give you my simple current solution to try and improve my ROI through sharing content daily or weekly depending on how much time I have, but before that let me tell you about where I have been going wrong with the Twitter extensions that I have consistently used and help you understand how this was easily done.
Easily done in that pressing a button and posting a link to multi twitter accounts is good if it is relative. The mistake I made is through the Microblog posting Seesmic. Seesmic is Adobe cloud compatible and runs like many Twitter apps from your computer.
I like Seesmic because the French guy who designed it is cool, but also it was recommended by Robert Allen, he was using it and said it was good so I downloaded it and still use it today.
It constantly updates and improves and now I think it even works with Identica.ca another micro-blog platform that holds authoritative back-links of posts.
Anyway let me emphasis what I just said and apologise if it seems like I am waffling a bit I am just trying to make a point what I am taking steps to improve and find more relative content to share and communicate.
Not only that seem more of an authoritative Twitter account and as such attract more professional followers of the field I try and communicate in.
Living in this day and age I am sure you can agree we all like to be experts in all the relative areas of the internet however you can only fit so much on one account and as I am finding even with my new system, the less the better because each on can take ten minutes so if you have three or four on each account that could take 30 or 40 minutes a day or week depending on how long you want to put into improving your recognised ROI or in USA RU.
This is all pretty much B2B standard stuff and should last for a few years. With addition to the investments that go into things like Twitter you can be rest assured these estimates will be about for a while, I stop now and give you where I am at and how I am doing it ?
OK on my Twitter handle robbwindow where you can find me, one of the words is media I have on the profile. Many of the people I follow are from the media, unfortunately the top ones are like very popular media and do not get chance to follow back, but that's fine because this is not necessarily just about finding the right people to follow. It is more about finding quickly the right daily popular content to share.
Why would you want to do this?
Because when you do eventually share your relative content it will get noticed more. Why? well I tell you the system first then hopefully it will make sense.
The System
So here it is 'The system' We Follow is an application I add it and be sure not to add the tick box of using the We follow in your Twitter account because you could loose your URL, especially if you are like me and have so many.
So you have enabled We Follow you type in the key word at the top of what it is in this case 'media' from the search comes a load of followers. You can click on there profile to follow (right click and open in another tab) go down the line and do this for about ten, over time you will recognise the most popular. And don't worry by clicking follow you will not be following you will taken to their WE Follow page.
By now you should have a load of tabs open, so now concentrate on one at a time. Now click the We Follow button this time it opens it up in another tab by itself and takes you to their Twitter account.
Scroll down the page of posts and look for really hot topics that you think either is a good trending topic for the day or something that you followers are going to love and quite possibly re-tweet . No need to follow the person if you do not want because remember we are in a rush here to do this, repetition helps with these sorts of things.
You might want to check out the link before you re-post it. The chances are because 'We Follow' ranks them highly you can safely assume the posts will be new from that day and will be very good. So just re-tweet the post, close down the page and go to the next We Follow tab you opened earlier and do the same thing.
Sometimes when you open a tab you may find there are no links because the people are closed and simply sharing within the organisation. If you like what the organisation is sharing about and what they represent and see future relationships with them them perhaps join and follow the people within the sharing @ but remember you are not affiliated or answerable and probably do not know the company policies about sharing and what could possibly be deemed as spamming or trolling within there own social media scene.
So for now I just stick to sharing posts I like, re-tweeting Tweets of people who are cool and have been re-tweeted by other media people and consistently creating some text, video or post of my own to contribute to the stream of relative content in the field.
Overtime the trick is as you log into Peer Index or Klout you will see your score improving. Other options are to set up your accounts with things like Google Analytics and it has been reported that this should be done too, but I as yet have not managed to set this is up.
Excuse: it has been the holidays and there has been a lot of interesting content out there.
Other helpful Alternatives
One other thing which I know is a hassle but I see it as a solution where as previously saw it as annoying is having the verify follows code on Twitter account, which means every person who follows me I have to go into messages and verify them and unfortunately that puts them in the same problem. So by doing this you can avoid spams and people who may have lots of followers but will have a negative impact on your ROI if they have not been verified in some way.
Celebrities get a waver on this with a little blue tick on Twitter, you can do this too, but I think it cost a few dollars to set up.
Another thing to know now like Matt Cutts announced about how Google now see's your authority, Peer Index and Klout both use Face-book as a way of gauging your ROI, or RU. It is said by somebody that even now but more so in the next couple of years if your ROI is over 75% then you are well on you way to being worth or able to be employed and earning £50,000 a year, so its definitely worth looking into OK.

You mention in your post some use tools to automatically make posts, and of course there’s a price. This paid for software follows and unfollows people, automatically.
I see no value in that, if I’m a priest, or studying for the priesthood then I need to practice. I want to learn it from use having my perceptive powers trained by self taught interaction with people. The lips of a priest should keep knowledge it should be in his memory, not in a plug in. That way people come to the priest for information so that he can personally interact. That’s a return visit, where with an exchange of comments resulting in a build up each one through the other’s faith both yours and mine.
I want to do it personally, get to know you, not let a mechanical tool do it without my even being aware of it. What value is there in that? Jesus said I am to love my neighbor and I’m to do that personally, not let a tool do it how am I to get to know my forum where I want to make friends if I’m not there, but by proxy I’m represented?
Someone says, where’s jghn? Well he’s here by internet conferencing, but we’ve never laid eyes on him. lookseenow is here though, and his posts are original content he gets it from his own database that took him 35 years to write, and he’s still modifying it. What comes out is like Isaiah’s method—he paints with words.
My posts are not an illusion, they are based on the Bible where H P gives me the opportunity to write a bi-monthly column. It has become more than that, since may when I entered the post per day contest, I got into the habit of writing just that—a post per day. It’s not that hard, and I seldom get writer’s block because my source material is inexhaustible. Within one book, the Bible there are treasures for writers where readers may never find out the work that the true God has made from the start to the finish. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
A good writer though has a challenge. Can he put it into palatable content, not just an array of Bible quotes? Anybody can do that, but lookseenow cares very little about keywords, I make up my own tags, sometimes I use H P’s suggested words, but my words are more relevant, and I do not care whether my words rank, or not, because wysiwyg from my posts. http://www.watchtower.org/
